So, let me get this straight. You're selling your Audi to by a Volkswagen? I kid, I kid.

Let the flaming commence. I'll see myself out.

Good luck on the sale. Your Audi looks like a good car.

Haha, thanks. Actually I believe I'm moving further away from VW heritage with this given that I'm looking at a 944. The Audi itself wasn't all that VW-influenced what with its B3 chassis, Quattro AWD, and 5-cylinder engine. But the 944 should be even further removed.

Sorry that I'm not in the market for an old 90 from 2000 miles away.

I've got an unrelated question, though. I've seen many CL ads wit the phone number spelled out like you have. Why? Is this what the cool kids do?

I believe it's to deter scammers/spammers. Although I got one already, so maybe it doesn't work at all. I posted this same ad last year (albeit without the updates that took place in that time) and had more scam/spam stuff than this time. I think CL is getting better about it.

???

You're moving closer to VW heritage.

The 944 is an evolution of the 924, which was originally supposed to be a VW.

The 924 was a Porsche car with a VW engine. The 944 is a Porsche car with a Porsche engine; half the 928's engine to be more precise.

The 924 was engineered by Porsche, but was originally engineered under contract to VW to become either a VW or Audi (depending on who you ask). When VW scrapped the project in favour of the Scirocco, Porsche took it over. It also had many VW-Audi parts bin pieces including an Audi tranny, and both the 924 and 944 were assembled by Audi in Necarsulm.

To me, as a fan of all three brands and knowing their combined heritage, there's no shame in that. I think every Porsche is a "real" Porsche, VW bits or not.

True. And quite a good explanation there. It's not really worth it to argue about "real" Porsches vs VWs, haha.

Either way, it'll be a cool car to own (I hope).

It no doubt will be a cool car to own. Hell, so is the 90. I worked at a VW/Audi dealer in the mid-90s. Did you know your trunk wing is hollow aluminum, made by BBS, and listed for something like $1200 CDN?

Well, I didn't know specifically that it was aluminum, but I had a pretty good hunch. I've always been impressed with that piece. Nearly every other wing like that you see is fiberglass.

And it'd be even cooler if your name was Christina.
